DOC NAME: Dr. Cho Hye In  (*) I had organised to meet with Dr. Park for nose and Dr. You for eyes - I was pushed to see Dr. Cho instead because Dr.You wason his day off. After my consult and price discussion, they said that it is possible to have a consult with Dr. You again if I am serious about surgery with them.

DOC SPEAKS ENGLISH: NO

REVIEW OF CONSULT WITH DOC: Bad. Unfortunately I did not get to see my desired surgeons but none the less this consult was lifeless, without interest from the doctor, barely 5 minutes long, and the doctor was not hands on and barely explained anything.

DOC NAME: Dr. Min-Koo Lee (eyes) and Dr. Joong-Hyuk Choi (nose)

DOC KNOWLEDGE: Dr. Lee has been operating for 25 years and was specific about what he could do. Dr. Choi has been operating for 15 years.

DOC SPEAKS ENGLISH:NO

REVIEW OF CONSULT WITH DOC: I enjoyed my consult with Dr. Lee. He gave me the impression that he knew what he was doing. He was specific about what was to be done and very clear about what he would do. Dr. Lee also helped me understand that ptosis correction and incisional DES are two different things (as I initially thought they could be achieved with one or the other). Ptosis correction is a different, deeper, muscle that is further than the top fatty layer of the muscle; using non incisional or incisional methods you can open the eye further so that more of your iris will show. DES procedure is the type of fold you choose. I had many questions and the doctor was patient, cheery, and polite with me. Although he spoke korean only, and the consultant only speaks mandarin, he was extremely patient and happy to explain AND re-explain all the procedures that he would do for me including an in-out fold which he thinks would look best.

My consult with Dr. Choi however was a rushed and eventhough he stayed for my questions, he was annoyed at times!

REVIEW OF CONSULTANT: Ms. Mei is probably the best consultant I saw today. She seemed genuined and although she only spoke mandarin and my mandarin is far to be desired, she was patient and happy to explain things over and over when needed.

PS NAME: VIP Clinic

DOC NAME: Dr. Song

DOC KNOWLEDGE: Consultant quoted that Dr. Song has been in the PS field for 10 years. When I spoke to him he seemed very knowledgable however his methods are very reserved and prefers his work to be limited to only very natural results.

DOC SPEAKS ENGLISH: YES

REVIEW OF CONSULT WITH DOC: Dr. Song explained that my eyeball is approx 24-25mm max. He said that the average korean eye is 27mm. Therefore I would not be able to achieve large eye results. He explained that I am a good candidate for epi however lateral canto is not possible because my eyeball socket is too close to my bone and all eyes need a frame (like his computer monitor!). He was very patient although hands were smelly :\ Dr. Song explained that I would need to have little only a small crease and he would not make it much bigger and I would need to keep my tapered fold. With regards to nose, he suggested that alar reduction only be made by incision from the inside because I have a good alar shape and cutting of that would change it's shape. He explained that making the incision from the inside achieves the same look.

DOC NAME: Dr. Choi (eyes) Dr. Suh (nose)

DOC KNOWLEDGE: Not sure how respective doctors have been in their field however they are extremely knowledgable in their respective fields.

DOC SPEAKS ENGLISH: YES - FLUENTLY

REVIEW OF CONSULT WITH DOC: I did not recognise Dr. Choi because he looks so young and did not know it was him till the end of our consult. Dr. Choi asked me what I thought the cause of my assymetry is and I proceed to blame my original and natural inconsistancy in my double or mono eyelids prior to my first DES surgery. He laughed and yelled "No! You know what the actual answer is? I will tell you. It is POWER!" Then he explained it's the lack of power in my left eye muscle causing my eye not to be able to hold the eyelid the way it should. He said that ptosis correction will fix the problem. He also suggested an in-out fold as the doctor did in Apujeong Seoul PS. However Dr. Choi reccomended against doing lateral canto while doing revision - he explained that we are trying to pull the eyelids upwards and lateral canto does the opposite which is to lower the bottom lids slightly.

Dr. Suh was also extremly knowledgable. He explained his methods using a textbook that he wrote. Unfortunatelywedid not see eye to eye on what I wanted done with my nose. He insisted on implantin silicone to my bridge, and tip plasty before alar reduction. I do appreciate that he explained cinching method is not permenant and after 1 year the suture tends to become undone and therefore did not reccomend cinching. He said that he would prefer to cut the alars from the outside despite my concern that it would change the shape of my alars as describedby the doctor from VIP. However he was very confident that cuttingfrom the outside and incising alittle of the inside was the best method.

REVIEW OF OVERALL PLACE: Very nice, Clean, Bright, Doctors are extremely friendly however consultants are not. During this MERS outbreak in 2015 JUNE, the staff at the front door insist on measuring your temperature and sanitizing your hands.

# OF PEOPLE THAT CAME THROUGH: BUSY (Saw approximately 5 groups in just the nose department). My wait for doctor Suh was approx 45 minutes.

REVIEW OF CONSULTANT: Jay is nice however it is obvious he tries hard to be because it is what his job requires of him. He is to the point and says that the prices are more or less fixed and if I were to choose JW he would then try to get a further discount from me which he would need approved by his supervisor.

DOC KNOWLEDGE:Not able to conclude.

DOC SPEAKS ENGLISH: MIXED English and Chinese

REVIEW OF CONSULT WITH DOC: Dr. Jaedon was very hands on which I liked. They also used a tweezer tool to test the eye shape rather than a wire stick or a tooth picked which I prefered. However he had to find more fault with my eyes such as eye bag removal which I don't think is necessary. He played around a lot with my eye, eye shape, and face before concluding whether or not it was going to be a difficult job.

REVIEW OF CONSULTANT: The translator Chloe was very nice however she is not a consultant. The consultant Ms. Kim was also nice but her facial surgery she had done caused her to look a little overly made.

DOC NAME: Dr. Yang

DOC KNOWLEDGE: N/A

DOC SPEAKS ENGLISH: YES

REVIEW OF CONSULT WITH DOC: There was 5 other people in my consulting room excluding myself. Dr. Yang, a trainee surgeon who looks much like Dr.Kim and yes I just searched their webpage to make sure. The other 3 people were Nicole my translator, a trainee for Nicole to teach, and the consultant. Dr. Yang laughs a lot however much of it sounds nervous. Out of all the surgeries I visited, only he reccomended that I needed botox and he blamed my higher lid to the raising of my forehead muscles. When I look into the mirror, I beg to differ. I do not feel any tension in my forehead muscles either and when it feels relaxed he says that I am using the muscle. I don't believe this to be entirely true because Dr. Choi from JW who is highly regarded did notmention forehead muscles and specifically stated that ptosis correction is enough to solve my assymetry.

REVIEW OF CONSULTANT: I don't know the consultant's name. She was not friendly and refused me to ask Dr. Yang a question when he was just outside the consulting room door.

PS NAME: MVP

DOC NAME: Dr. Seo Hyo Seok (8 years)

DOC KNOWLEDGE: Thorough enough

DOC SPEAKS ENGLISH: A little

REVIEW OF CONSULT WITH DOC: Dr. Seok is extremely patient and thorough. When I first met him, he was very hands on which was something I liked. He is soft spoken and seems very humble. Dr. Seok does very natural work and I have asked him for as big of eyes I can possibly get even if that makes me a little dolly. He explained that if he cut my epi too much my eyes would look too close together then he proceeded to show me. Wow he was right! On our first consult he said he could do epi, des, ptosis, lateral and possibly fix my entropian all at once. On my second consult with him, he suggested the same as Dr. Choi from JW (who I respect as well) and Dr. Yang from CheongdamU. All 3 of them unanimously say that I should come back to fix my laterals because the most important focus is to make my double eyelids more symmetrical. Dr. Seok seems to be very considerate and thoughtful of what I want in my final result.

REVIEW OF CONSULTANT: Ellen is the glue to all of this. At first she seemed a little pushy but after you meet all the other consultants around, Ellen comes across genuine. She is very to the point and knows what SHE wants and what she can do for you. On my second consult, I brought some friends along who had a lot of questions for themselves and were also playing around with the silicones and skull in the room, I thought Ellen was extremely patient with them. I had my second consult with her that day which took an hour, then coming back with my friends after, they took another 2 hours of her time!! Ellen was extremely helpful and never rushes unless there is urgency to do so.

REVIEW OF CONSULT WITH DOC: Good. We were impressed with his knowledge and his hands on inclination to touch my friend’s face to decide how to achieve her desired chin. He initially suggested fat grafting but once he saw before and afters and her goal, he suggested chin implant and fat grafting.

REVIEW OF CONSULTANT: Jamie was very nice. When you come into JK they give you a little JK souvenir which is a portable phone stand.  However we were then transferred to Lucy who brought us upstairs. Lucy is just as nice and probably more senior to Jamie. She is patient and sweet and very accomodating.
